EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI)

FOR THE SUPPLY OF ELECTRONIC PASSPORT BOOKLETS

The Ministry of State for Immigration and Registration of Persons intends to introduce new electronic passport for Kenya nationals. This shall entail the introduction of a microchip into the passport that shall contain biometric features and civil data of the individual submitting an application. The new electronic document is anticipated to enhance identification and border security as well as minimize fraud and identity theft. It is also expected that the new passport will operate and integrate with current and upcoming systems for passports and border management systems.

Immigration officials asked to be vigilant

The Chairperson of Kenya Citizens and foreign Nationals Management Service Amb Kilimi Mworia has asked officers manning border points to be vigilant and ensure that remnants of the Al Shabaab militia do not enter into the country.

Speaking in Busia County during the familiarization tour and inspection of ultra modern office block at Busia border, the chairperson of the newly formed service board said that Kenya faces real threats from the militia out to carry revenge attacks on Kenyan citizens following defeat their by the Kenya defense forces.

The Kenyan Citizenship and Immigration Regulations 2012

This is to bring to the attention of the general public that the Ministry of State for Immigration and Registration of persons has revised fees for various types of passports, permits and visa fees which take effect immediately.The changes are cited in the Kenya Citizenship and Immigration Regulations, 2012 contained in the Special Kenta Gazette Supplement No. 63. The fees have been revised as follows:

a) Fees on Passports
